Meet The Crew
Thank you for visiting! We are Kaili & Crystal, professional luxury photographers and owners of CK Studios in Northern Colorado. It is our focus and passion to make your senior look and feel like the rock star that they truly are.
Our studio is located in Briggsdale, Colorado. We travel all over Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska creating luxury, top-of-the-line portrait experiences.
We know that you value and appreciate heirloom albums and one-of-a-kind wall hangings, but don't have the time to figure out how to build an album, order canvases, or decipher print sizes.
We want to walk you through the whole process, from selecting the perfect outfits for your images, to helping you pick out the best wall hangings and framed prints to hang on your walls, to ensuring that your art work is absolutely perfect upon delivery.
I was born in Northern Wyoming, and moved south to Longmont, Colorado when I was 3. I grew up exploring Boulder County, and the beauty that Northern Colorado has to offer.
I picked up my first Nikon F3 film camera when I took a Photo 101 course in high school. Honestly, I took the class because I thought it would be an easy "A"(narrator: "It wasn't.") But, with help from a wonderful instructor, that sleeper course turned into a life-long passion that, in 2015, gave birth to CK Studios.
I like to spend my free time hiking, biking, tubing down the Cache la Poudre with my family, or otherwise enjoying all that a life in Northern Colorado has to offer. I enjoy collecting vinyl records (both old AND new), watching Marvel movies with my girls, and Volkswagen Beetles (yes, I drive one daily). I also spent 4 years coaching football at Prairie High School in New Raymer, Colorado - Go Mustangs!
I also own an embarrassing amount of Golden Girls merchandise. What can I say? Dorothy's my girl...
Hope to meet you soon!
I'm a native Colorado girl. I was born in Fort Collins, and grew up in Windsor. I spent a lot of time on the lake, waterskiing, barbecuing, fishing and camping.
I grew up a tomboy. I did all the things the boys could do, and then some (I still can, and do!) I started photographing basketball and volleyball games at our local high school, and have even been tackled a time or two on the sideline.
I like to spend my free time working in the garage or in the garden, playing with our two dogs, and taking walks with my family.
Let's chat soon!
Here's Where We Started...
It all started for us in September 2015 at a middle school gym in Deer Trail, Colorado during a volleyball game. We had driven 2 hours to see our daughter play, and we had packed the low-end Nikon camera we had just purchased for the long trip. While the teams were warming up, we starting messing with settings and lenses, and snapping some pictures here and there. We had no idea what we were doing..and it showed in the final images. They were AWFUL. Blurry, soft, grainy, and terrible.
So, instead of throwing in the towel, we decided to learn. We read books, watched videos, talked to photographers, and slowly honed our craft. It didn't take long before we could completely freeze a moving volleyball and a flailing spiker in mid-air!
A few parents had pulled us aside and asked if we did senior pictures. Honestly, we had never considered it until then. So, we gave it a shot (no pun intended).
Once again, we had no idea what we were doing or where to start. Our first session can only be described as robotic. We didn't know how to pose or direct...but somehow, we bumbled through.
And...when we presented our client the images of her son, she cried. She actually cried! Tears of joy!
As we drove back home that night, we decided to do everything in our power to become the best senior photographers we could be. We wanted to learn everything we could about the craft, and create unforgettable, high-end sessions for our clients. We wanted to guide our clients through the senior portrait process and be there for them throughout the entire experience.
We didn't want to be ordinary photographers, but extraordinary photographic artists.
It's that passion that drives CK Studios to this day, and we want nothing more than to create an amazing, fun, and stress-free senior portrait experience for you.
